Ice cream!

Are you ready? This dessert is nearly too good to be true and too easy to believe!
It started off with a packet of cream that needed using up.
The base icecream recipe is that simple:
600 ml cream
1 tin of condensed milk.
Whip the cream, then mix in the condensed milk. How easy is that?!
Now here comes the fun part: flavouring!
I toasted some coconut (maybe 1/2 cup?) in a frying pan till golden, stirring all the time: then tipped it out so it didn't continue to cook.
I cut up two Cherry Ripes (resisting the urge to nibble....)
and added a slug of Malibu for a hit of adult coconut flavour!
That's it: mix it all together and put it into the freezer. No beating, no churning, next step is eating!
And the result? YUUUUM... served for effect with some berry coulis, a raspberry macaron, crushed meringue, extra cherry ripe and a maraschino cherry... just because I wanted a cherry on top!
Let me know what flavourings you try!

  1. The recipe sounds easy enough. I imagine the taste is awesome. But it is the presentation on the plate that really is a standout for me!

  2. Thanks, David, maybe a win-win this time in both looks and taste! That ice-cream is such a great base to experiment with - I haven't had a bad batch yet.
